Ting-Yu Liu was born in Taiwan. She received her Bachelors degree in piano performance from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan and a master of music degree from Cleveland Institute of Music. Ting-Yu continued to study music theory and received her second masters degree in music theory from the University of Oregon in 2022.
