Colin, Chang, piano Bach Toccata in G major BWV 916 Chopin Étude 10.10 Scarlatti Sonata K 175 Scarlatti Sonata K 135 Falla Fantasia Baetica Colin Chang was born in Toronto, Canada, and has been learning the piano since the age of six.
He has had various piano recital performances in Hong Kong and Canada. In 2016, Colin was selected to be one of the pianists at the Lang Lang’s 101 Pianists Workshop in Hong Kong. Colin received 1st place, Gold Award in the Beethoven Sonata class, and 3rd place for the Chopin-Major Work class in the 2020 Kiwanis Music Festival.
He was a finalist of the 5th Claudette Sorel Competition, a bronze medalist in the Canada IPC festival, and was the recipient of the Consul General Award in the Chopin Avenue International Piano competition.
In the 2021-2022 edition of the Sound Espressivo Competition, Colin received several awards including Laurate and First Place of his age category, and “Excellence in Piano Performance” by Brilliant Talent Discovery Awards. Colin has performed in masterclasses with Anya Alexeyev, James Anagnoson, Anton Nel, Ilya Itin, and John O’Conor. He has been a student of the Taylor Academy for three years under the tutelage of Dr. Michael Berkovsky. He will be studying piano under Prof. John Perry at the Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory this coming September.
